QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) - History is coming alive in a new way in Warren County. A soon-to-be-released smartphone app is set to use GPS to bring local stories from the past to life, one at a time. Get the latest news, weather, sports and more delivered right to your inbox! On Thursday, Sept. 28, Crandall Public Library in Glens Falls will host a presentation introducing history fanatics to the new "Explore Warren County" app, launching early in 2024. Led by Warren County Geographic Information Systems Coordinator Sara Frankenfeld and Cliff & Redfield Interactive founder Dan Forbush, "Spatial Storytelling in Western Warren County" will be hosted at 7 p.m. at the library's Community Room.The Explore Warren County app will launch next year with three audio tours. CLAYTON, Mo. -- Police are asking for help to find a man wanted for kidnapping and sexual assault in Oak Knoll Park last week. Clayton detectives are looking for Jose Gomez-Velasquez, 25, who is wanted on several charges. Police have increased patrols of Oak Knoll Park and our surrounding neighborhoods.Court documents state that the victim was walking in a Richmond Heights neighborhood on August 30th when she was taken against her will to a nearby gas station. Gomez-Velasquez is accused of punching her in the face and then committing sexual assault in a secluded area of Oak Knoll Park. ‘It didn’t seem real’: Friends reflect on loss of teens in fatal crash Gomez-Velasquez choked the woman there before abandoning her. She spoke with police from an area hospital with the help of a translator. ST. LOUIS -- Officers shot a man Thursday after they say he opened fire on police. This scene is on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard near Clara Avenue in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood of north St. Louis.The man has been taken to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.There were no officers hurt in this incident. This is a developing story. Another Californian is waking up a multi-millionaire.A single ticket matched all six numbers in Wednesday evening’s SuperLotto Plus drawing. Operators of the Chiquita Canyon Landfill in Castaic have been ordered to reduce odors that have led to residents complaining and even falling ill.So far this year, the South Coast Air Quality Management District has received 2,100 odor complaints that investigators traced back to the landfill. As a result, AQMD has issued approximately 60 notices of violations for public nuisance.The agency’s investigation found that the landfill gas contained elevated levels of dimethyl sulfide, which its gas treatment system is currently not designed to remove, officials said. A subsurface chemical reaction was determined to be the root cause of the issue. The Riverside County Coroner's Office has identified two people who died in a Winchester multi-car crash just before midday Wednesday, and officials believe it was caused by a driver operating a truck while under the influence of drugs.At about 11:40 a.m. at Domenigoni Parkway and Leon Road, a 2013 International box truck driven by Delwyn Randle, a 39-year-old from Westminster, crashed into a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped at a red light, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release. The Silverado then hit the 2022 BMW X3 in front of it, and a Dodge Durango that was stopped two lanes over was hit by debris from the crash as well. Auto-Pedestrian Collision near Loughborough Drive Left One DeadMERCED, CA (September 7, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, a woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on R Street.Police responded to the incident around 5:21 a.m. in the R Street area between Loughborough Drive and Buena Vista Drive.According to the investigators, police were called to the area after the woman was spotted passing motorists.
